Men Who Watch Porn Regularly Are Prone to Have Problems - See why

Researchers have found a link between watching porn and erectile dysfunction. New research has shown that men who watch too much porn have trouble getting an erection during sex

These results were presented at the Congress of the European Association of Urology, held online from 17 to 19 July. This as yet unpublished study included a total of 3,267 men from Belgium and Denmark, who answered a questionnaire about sexual experiences, pornography and masturbation habits.

The results showed that 23 percent of men, under the age of 35, who said they often watch porn are prone to erectile dysfunction during sex.

- That number was higher than we expected. We found that there was a very significant relationship between the time spent watching porn and the increase in difficulty with erectile function during sexual intercourse - said study author  Gunter De Win .

More research is needed to uncover the causes of this trend, although De Win believes the increasingly pronounced nature of Internet pornography may leave some men unimpressed by real-life sex.

- There is no doubt that pornography conditions the way we look at sex. In our study, only 65 percent of men find sex with a partner more exciting than watching porn. In addition, 20 percent of them feel the need to watch more extreme porn to feel the same level of arousal. We believe that the problems of erectile dysfunction associated with pornography stem from this lack of arousal, De Win explained.

Meanwhile, a separate study presented at the congress provided evidence of a change in the nature of the sexual issues that are causing European men to seek treatment. A study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research found that by 2019, men were 30 percent more likely to visit a sex clinic because of concerns about the shape of their penis than they had a decade earlier.

The study included 3,244 men who visited a sexual health clinic in Italy for 10 years, and also found that the number of patients who reported low sexual desire increased by 32 percent, IFLScience reports .
