In 2017, Anja Ringgren Lovén , founder of the Foundation for the Development and Education of African Children with AIDS, shared on social media the images of a rescue that shocked the world.

In it, Anja introduced Hope (Esperança, in Portuguese), a Nigerian boy that the people considered a wizard - as well as many others - and abandoned them. The child was found dirty, hungry and extremely thin. And the image of this Dane giving her water went viral.

Hope's story left people around the world touched by the situation and the boy was the target of endless solidarity. It should also be remembered that the missionary was considered by OOOM magazine as the person who most inspired her in 2016.

Anja Ringgren Lovén decided to adopt Hope at the orphanage she runs and, four years later, the child is completely different.
