Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi rejected a world record fee to remain with the Catalan team, according to report in Spanish media Mundo Deportivo.
Manchester City launched a world record fee for Messi last year but the Argentine forward declined the offer and signed a new deal with Barcelona.
Manchester City chairman Sheikh Mansour was ready to break the bank and pay a sum of €755 MILLION to sign the Barcelona forward.
The report claimed that the Argentine was offered a contract of €50m-a-year, plus a signing-on fee worth €50m and the same for his father, Jorge.
Messi turned down the offer and signed a new deal with his boyhood club Barcelona.
