Liverpool to go back for Asensio

Liverpool are reportedly ready to test Real Madrid's resolve over Marco Asensio once again after a reported £160m bid was knocked back in the summer, according to OK Diario.

The bid was supposedly rejected in the hope that Asensio could begin to fill the boots of the departing Cristiano Ronaldo but he and the squad as a whole have underperformed since the Portuguese's departure.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly especially keen on the player and is hopeful that the club's current poor performances will convince them to sell the youngster and bring in a more experienced head.
