Nigerian Super Eagles Striker, Odion Ighalo’s Club, Changchun Yatai lost the battle of remaining in the Chinese Elite Super League as they were relegated over the weekend.
Changchun Yatai confirmed their relegation from Chinese Super league after they suffer a 2 - 0 defeat in the hand of Dalian Yifang in Sunday’s final league clash.
Changchun Yatai will be playing in the second division for next season, but it remains to be seen if Ighalo will stay with them or find a move to another club.
Ighalo who scored 22 goals in all competition for the relegated side was
missing in action Dalian due to a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile John Mikel Obi’s Tianjin Teda was beaten 5 - 1 away by Guangzhou Evergrande at the Tianhe Stadium, but survived relegation war after finishing on same 32 points with Changchun Yatai but they had better record which was their saving grace.
