The Match opened On a wonderful night in Paris, Portugal again took it to extra-time and won European Cup by Eder's strike in the match that was marred by Cristiano Ronaldo’s early injury.
After a magnificent closing ceremony, led by – again – David Guetta and Zara Larsson who performed the tournament anthem, and former Spain captain Xavi who officially returned theHenri Delaunay trophy, Portugal and France went on field to determine who is more worthy to win it.
The match started at a very high pace when France was on possession, at 17minutes the key man, Cristiano Ronaldo was brought down by Dimtri Payet, and was substituted for Ricardo Quaresma.
Renato Sanchez was substituted for Eder at 79mins, this brought about great changes to Portugal's game, including some great saves by Rui Patricio who eventually emerged the man of the match.
The Portuguese struggled to go through the first and second half on a goalless draw with lots of efforts by the Blues, but all to no avail.
The French players performed wonderfully but wasn't enough to win them the cup, There were lots of attempts by the French forward Antoine Griezmann, Sissoko, Paul Pogba, Matuidi, Dimtri Payet, all played their best.
Non theless France player Anthonie Griezmann emerged as the highest goal scorer of the tournament with 6 goals to his credit, even though he failed to score in the finals. the other goal scorers are C.Ronaldo 3

That can be converted for France atleast compensation for the loss
